A fun, festive main course that’s perfect for any celebration! It’s flavorful, juicy, vibrant, naturally gluten-free, and very low-effort for high-effect!

These flavorfull protein-packed little boats were adapted from a baked chicken boat recipe from @ronis_recipes. It looked so incredible that I wanted to make it for a holiday dinner party. Luckily, it couldn’t have been easier to replace chicken with a plant-based protein source – the all mighty tofu!

Tofu, with its tender texture and mild taste, is the perfect blank canvas for you to incorporate any flavors into it. I like to prep this recipe the night before and leave the tofu filets in the marinade in the fridge overnight.

Once the tofu is marinated, it’s super quick to put this dish together. The combination of citrus, rosemary, and thyme will instantly fill your kitchen with a lovely festive aroma.

Citrus Boat Baked Tofu
Ingredients
Method
- Cup the tofu into 2 pieces and carve into fillet shapes if you like, score the top of the tofu with horizontal or criss cross lines, cut only about 1/2 of the height of the tofu, do not cut through;
- In an airtight container, mix together all the marinade ingredients, transfer the tofu into the marinade and let them absorb the flavors for at least 4 hours, or in the fridge overnight;
- When you’re ready to cook, preheat the oven to 400°F;
- Take one parchment paper, fold it like an accordion, then tie off both ends with baking twine, carefully open up the parcel from the middle and shape it like a little boat, repeat and make another one;
- Add 3-4 orange slices at the bottom of the boats, alternate between regular and blood oranges, add one spring of rosemary and two thyme, transfer one tofu fillet on top, add a drizzle of avocado oil, a pinch of coarse salt and black paper;
- Transfer the boats onto a baking sheet, bake for 25 minutes, serve hot, enjoy!
